On Tuesday, May 23rd 2017, Classes 6B and 6R set about creating their own Indian sweets including the design and construction of its packaging.
Using their maths skills, the children first of all created the nets of their sweet packaging. Precise measuring was required in order to produce nets of triangular prisms, tetrahedrons etc. These were then decorated appropriately, often with the colours of the Indian flag and/or national animals or flowers, and then cut out and glued together.
They then embarked upon the process of creating their own traditional type of Indian sweet: Coconut Barfi (ingredients being: desiccated coconut; icing sugar; condensed milk and vanilla essence). We hope the recipient families and friends enjoyed them. Consensus this end – Yum!
