Year 5 had a great day at Southwell Minster on 5th March.
We joined with over 200 other children from different primary and junior schools for the Southwell Minster Time Travelling event. We worked in four groups (two from each class) and had six different learning activities during the day in different parts of the minster. These included:
- looking at the stained glass windows
- looking at the architecture and some sculpture on the outside of the building
- learning about the organ
- thinking about prayer and communion
- learning about the work of the Children's Society
- doing some drama
- thinking about baptism
Other highlights of the day included spending some money in the Time Travelling shop, an indoor picnic lunch and the bus breaking down on the way back to school.
