15 Dec 2015

The annual Christmas choir tour took place on the afternoon of 14th December this year – our first Monday outing.

We enjoyed a super visit to Gedling Civic Centre in Arnot Park, Arnold. We sang a 30-minute programme of carols and secular Christmas songs. The Mayor and Lady Mayoress attended and there was also a presentation made to winners of the Mayor’s Christmas Card competition. Following this concert, the children were given a tour of the Council Chamber by the Mayor. They sat in the Councillors’ chairs and were able to ask the Mayor some questions before moving on to the Mayor’s Parlour for a biscuit and a drink.

The coach then took us on to St. Andrews’ House, an extra care home, which is very close to our school on Digby Avenue. We repeated our programme there and were made very welcome by the residents and staff.

The members of the Music Club also visited St. Andrew’s House on Thursday morning to accompany some carol-singing and to play some Christmas Music to the residents. We were very well received again and it was a very enjoyable time.
