Welcome to the Year 5 Class Page!
This year, your teachers will be:
Mount Etna - Mrs James/ Mrs Tatham
Year 5 TA - Miss Thomas
Mount Etna is the highest Mediterranean island mountain and the most active stratovolcano in the world. The eruptive history of the volcano can be traced back 500,000 years and at least 2,700 years of this activity has been documented.
Mount Vesuvius - Mr Martin
Mount Vesuvius is an active volcano in southern Italy. It is famous for an eruption that happened in 79 CE. Thousands of people died when lava, ashes, and mud buried the cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Stabiae. The cities were forgotten until archaeologists began digging up their ruins in the 1700s.
