Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games mountain biking event venue taster for one of
Georgina from year 5 was lucky to take part in a photoshoot at Cannock Chase Forest which is going to be the venue for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games mountain biking events. So this has enabled Forestry England who manage the site to secure funding for a big cycle trails development project, including this new concept bike play trail 'Pedal and Play' which has been developed in conjunction with organisations like Sport England and British Cycling as a way to help kids experience the benefits of riding their bikes and being active out in nature.... For the physical and mental health benefits and also to start children off on their mountain biking journey to hopefully help develop the Commonwealth Games mountain biking competitors of the future!!

The trail build is still being completed so it isn't yet open to the public - although hopefully they're only a couple of weeks away from it being fully open - which meant as part of this photoshoot Georgina was actually the first ever person to ride some sections of the trail, much to her delight!!
