Easter Homework

Hi 5K and 5T,

We have put together some homework for your Easter holiday.

Spellings:

Learn the next 10 National Curriculum spellings and test yourself at home.

immediately, individual, interfere, interrupt, language, leisure, lightning, marvellous, mischievous, muscle

Times tables:

Instead of completing sheets, use the Times Table Rock Stars site for 5 minutes each day. Times Table Rock Stars has been set up so that you will be asked questions about these times tables:

week 1: 11 and 12 week 2: 6 7 8 9 10 11 12

Art and English:

We would like you to:

(i) draw and describe your ideal Easter egg - is it milk, dark or white chocolate? If you don't like chocolate, what would you have yours made from? Does it have any decoration - patterns, things added to it e.g. smarties?

(ii) draw and colour the packaging for your egg - is it wrapped in coloured foil or paper? Does it come in a box?

(iii) try and write a slogan / catchphrase for the egg e.g. "A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play" or "Have a break, have a kitkat".

(iv) write a persuasive paragraph about why someone should buy your Easter egg - could you describe how it tastes? how it smells? how it will make someone feel if they eat it? is it good value / cheap? Does a celebrity endorse / recommend your egg to everyone? Does the egg come with a free gift? If you're struggling, think about what might make you choose a particular egg.

Maths

We thought it would be useful if you revisited perimeter (total distance around the outside of a 2D shape) and area. We learned about this just before and just after Christmas. The worksheets and answers are on the class page. Do not feel that you have to complete all 4 sheets. Perimeter 1 and Area 1 are easier sheets. Perimeter 2 and Area 2 have some trickier questions on them.

Best wishes,

Mr Knight and Mrs Tatham
